Prema’s audience goes crazy for the finest, freshest folk music from both emerging artists and established bands. We’re proud to promote the very finest quality live music from all corners of the world; from Senegalese singers and dancers to heart-shattering vocal sounds from Georgia through to instrumental reels, ballads and massively danceable roots combos.

For those with a love for the quieter life (musically speaking), we offer occasional evening concerts of classical music and acoustic folk. The wonderful sound acoustic of Prema’s Upstairs Room makes this venue the perfect space to experience interesting, innovative performances in a comfortable, friendly building.

Kids are warmly invited to our music gigs too – young musicians and kids who love music get an enormous amount from being so close to live music in our really magical building.

Dancing

We’re so often asked “Is it a sit-down gig?” – live music at Prema is sometimes best enjoyed by sitting down and basking in a gentle acoustic sound. However quite often our live bands are just begging for someone to take to the floor to make some shapes. Once one person is up and dancing the whole room joins them. We love it when people dance at Prema and actively welcome folks to have a darn good boogie.
