We’re delighted to welcome back the ever-brilliant Marie-Louise Flexen and her wonderful creative ballet sessions. Ballet gives the body a terrific workout, helping to build muscle tone and fortify core strength. It assists with joint mobility and ease of movement and is great for improving balance & posture as well as strengthening the body’s nervous system.

The six-week course with Marie-Lou is ideal for beginners as well as those who have done some ballet in the dim and distant past. Maybe the pandemic put paid to your plié and you’re keen to take your place once again at the barre. Marie-Lou’s sessions are about inclusivity, fun and an exploration of the technique and its application within well-being, fitness, fun and mindful movement. Each session starts with a great 10 minute warm up and concludes with an extended chill-down, helping stretch out those worked muscles!

 

We’ll be using the ballet barre to help us focus our movement, balance and posture but there’ll also be plenty of fluid movement and gentle choreography to a soundtrack of contemporary classical and suitable modern music.
